Ascendance Email Setup

 

This document is meant to help guide you through setting up your email program. If you encounter any problems or issues, please feel free to call us at: (530)889-8300 option 2.

 

Setting up Outlook Express

 

Open Outlook Express.

 

Click tools, and then click accounts.

 

 

This window will appear.

 

Click “Add” then click “Mail…”

 

 

This window will appear. Enter in your Ascendance email address. Click “Next”.

 

 

Enter your Ascendance email address. Click “Next”.

 

 

Make sure that it says “POP3” in the box at the top.

 

For the “Incoming Mail Server” enter: mail.ascendance.net

 

For the “Outgoing mail server” enter: mail.ascendance.net

 

Click “Next”.

 

Make sure your “Account Name” is your full Ascendance email address.

 

Enter your password and make sure the “Remember password” box is checked.

 

DO NOT check the “Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)” box.

 

Click “Next”. Then click “Finish”.

 

 

In the “Internet Accounts” window, click on the “Mail” Tab

 

Select the Ascendance email account and click “Properties”

 

 

Click the “Servers” tab.

 

At the bottom you will see a section marked “Outgoing Mail Server”.

 

Make sure there is a check in the box marked “My server requires authentication”.

 

Click “Settings…”

 

 

Make sure “Use same settings as my incoming mail server” is marked.

 

Click OK. Then click OK on the properties window. Click close on the Internet Accounts window. You should now be able to use your email account.
