Ascendance, a leading provider of wireless networking infrastructure products and services has enhanced its SecureLINX™ product line by enabling PoE surveillance cameras, VoIP telephones, access control, and other IP Based end points to be powered directly from the SecureLINX™ Access Point or Client Device.

“Efficiency, reduced installation time and costs, and eliminating unnecessary equipment onsite are some of the important benefits that can be achieved through the latest enhancement to the SecureLINX™ product with direct PoE power support”, said Mark Cederloff, President of Ascendance. This new enhancement enables up to five IP based end points (i.e. Surveillance Cameras, VoIP Telephones, Access Control systems, Alarm systems, and other supported devices) to be directly connected to each SecureLINX™ unit deployed in the network.

It is no longer a requirement to install an expensive and separate power source for each device. Supported devices can simply connect directly to an available external Ethernet connector to receive its power. Field technicians can install a single Cat5/6 cable to the device for network and power connectivity. Installations can be completed faster, utilizing less equipment, and reducing the amount of devices that can fail. Additionally, less power will be used across the network thus reducing and helping to manage the budget and environment. This translates into a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
